I bought this top from Anthropologie with my Christmas gift card over spring break, and yesterday I finally made myself wear it. During my first year at Knox, the girls in my suite used to tease me about how many items in my closet still had tags attached. I guess I just like to have "new" things in my closet for times when I cant afford to get something new? That's the only explanation I have so far!

hangin' around
Most of the time, when I buy something new (literally new, not thrifted), it takes me months to actually wear it.

new things are inspiring. I have a vast wardrobe I will admit, but a new piece makes things suddenly more exciting again haha
I'm the opposite - when I get something new, I want to wear it right away, all the time, several days in a row ;)
So lovely. I totally love the ruffle and tartan. :)
XoXo
What a cute top! Whenever I get something new, I want to wear it right away - but it's a neat idea to think of new things waiting in the closet... Eh, I don't have that sort of willpower!
thats a very cute top.. :)
Very cute! I usually want to wear my new things right away!
I am the Same way! I can think of so many dresses/tops that I have bought in the past, but haven't worn them until months after purchasing them. For me, I think it's because I second guess myself and think it does not look nice on me. I guess it takes me a few months to realize it does look good. lol.
The top is adorable on you :o)
I love the large ruffle on the shirt! And this is a lovely picture of you. I love the vintage polaroid feel.
I do that too, I think it takes a while for me to really realize its there and then to plan it into an outfit. The only thing I'm not like that with is dresses b/c they go on so easy I usually wear them the next day. :-)
Simplicity. That and I kind of just like having 'my' domain. That's a cute shirt!
Cute top. I'm the opposite, new items immediatley displace old favorites in my wardrobe.
I totally agree with you. Sometimes it takes me months to wear new clothes i've bought.

Wow, really? I pretty much always wear new things within a week or 2 of getting them. I'm pretty much always tired of my clothes, so I like having new things to play with. I might be getting into a dangerous cycle...
Anyway, that top is so lovely! Plaid and ruffles are 2 of my favorite things.
Sometimes I wear new things instantly--sometimes I save them for a year. I know I'll wear them eventually so I don't worry.
I actually haven't seen the movie, but it's on my mental list of movies to see.
That shirt is so cute! I love the ruffle. x
Hmm maybe you're like me and like to save new things for a time when you really want to wear it and feel super pretty? But I totally get that wanting to have new things for the sake of them being new. It's a really different feeling from thrifted pieces, no matter how fabulously vintage they may be. And anything from Anthropologie is essentially gold! You look adorable and so happy!
Cute blouse! I am going thrifting this weekend. YAY! It's nice to buy new things though sometimes..especially Anthropologie! Lucky you! Check out my Mount Fuji Post!
I do that too... but I always blamed it on being stuck at home so much :^/
You look wonderful in the top!
This top is really darling. I love the ruffles.
Ohyes, would you like to exchange links? I love your blog! :D
lol about *making* yourself wear it. has a riotous crowd gathered ominously outside your door, banging against the walls with sticks and stones, yelling, demanding that you wear flared sleeveless today rather than the hooded sweatshirt upon pain of dismemberment?
I do the same thing some times. A dress I bought over two and a half years ago finally got its tags snipped off recently. I still haven't worn it yet, though ;)
Plaid is always wonderful, but the ruffles and fluttery cap sleeves make this top extra sweet.
I'm glad to hear your package arrived! You're welcome :)
omg i am totally the same!!! i have a blouse from the fall - guess i will wear it when it gets cooler :) i actually hate wearing stuff the same day or day after i purchased it. im weird like that lol!
I'm largely the same with new buys!
I do the same, especially when it's something offbeat. A plain red tank top I will wear right away, but a romper, or a detailed shirt, or a crazy pair of shoes...those always take me a while to gather the confidence to wear :)
That's funny when I buy new clothes I can't wait to wear them !! The top is adorable, I love the ruffles :)
I totally wear my new stuff right away!! This is a lovely top!!!
Oooh love the ruffle!
Oh wow! You have patience I do not possess! When I get something new I want to wear it immediately!
You look marvelous in that top by the way! Beautiful!
Cheers,
C
I do the same thing. Cute top though.
Girl, you are adorable! I love that top, and I actually have a similar problem. I love wearing my thrifted clothes; they've already been lived in, and are 100% comfy-fied.
My "new" clothes take months to get the same feel. Darn it!
Oh my gosh I do the exact same thing!! I love that blouse!
what a cute picture! that shirt is lovely, i love anthropologie! :)
i tend to always want to wear new things right away, although sometimes i save them for special occasions.
